Each of us can contribute to making the world a better place. As servant leaders in a global society, it’s what we, at Seton Hall University, devote our hearts and minds to each day.

If you are looking for a more than a master’s program, but rather a place that will provide a path where your passion for international affairs and interest in shaping the future will be taken seriously, empowered and encouraged, this is the place for you.

Seton Hall’s School of Diplomacy and International Relations is a school like no other. Strategically located just outside New York City in suburban South Orange, New Jersey, it offers a close-knit, professional learning community where students from around the world train for diverse and purposeful careers in the private, public, and non-profit sectors.

Our graduate students gain critical perspectives, real world experience and concrete research skills, preparing them to make a difference. Mid-career professionals can pursue an accelerated online program that can be completed in one year. In addition, the School offers both traditional on-campus graduate and dual degree programs that can be done full or part time.

Students have access to myriad resources designed to support those seeking to take their global careers to the next level. Our unique internship program is the cornerstone of our graduate curriculum, stimulating professional growth through applied academic knowledge. As a result:

  • Our Master's degree candidates have the option to complete at least one professional internship under the guidance of a dedicated Director of Internships and Career Development.
  • We are proud to work with over 600 internship partner institutions in over 70 countries around the world to identify the best opportunity to meet your goals.
  • Consistently, 95% of intern supervisors indicate the highest degrees of satisfaction with student performance. Such feedback continues to raise the profile of the School leading to additional internship partnerships and increased student employability post-graduation.

In addition, the School also houses its own Office of Professional Services to assist Diplomacy students in developing and realizing their post-graduation plans. The combination of internship experience and professional development services directly contribute to the success of our alumni community spread across the public, private and non-profit sectors.

Top employers include: U.S. Department of State, Booz Allen Hamilton, JP Morgan Chase, Amnesty International USA, and United Nations agencies and Permanent Missions.
