Dear Colleagues
As part of our Social Change Career Helping Line, the world's first crowd & expert sourced helping for Careers in Change, we've started doing weekly Facebook Line sessions called "Lets Talk About Careers in Change".
Our next session will be on Tuesday June 12, 2018 at 12 Eastern Standard Time.
We sit down and introduce some hot careers topics and wait for your amazing (and sometimes hard) questions. Keep them coming. This following week we have a special guest and we will be talking about Consulting on Social Change with Dr. Jill Alpes, who has extensive experience in consulting, migration & policy development & Dr. Craig Zelizer, founder/CEO of PCDN. If you want to know how to start your consulting track in social change or how to grow your consulting client roster don't miss this Facebook live.
We will have an open discussion and address some of the following questions:
How to land a gig in consulting?
What does being a consultant involve?
How to market yourself?
What happens when challenges arise during a consultancy? What happens when things go well?
All you need to is join the Social Change Career Helping Line and be online in the group next Tuesday. Participants can put forward their own questions as well as share your own insights & experiences from consulting.
The session will also be recorded and viewable in the group.

Dr. Jill Alpes has a Ph.D. in legal anthropology, on irregular migration trajectories, with a particular focus on sources of vulnerability and exploitation. Over the last 13 years, she worked on protection issues for migrants, refugees and children for and in collaboration with international NGOs, UN bodies and research institutes in different European countries. She is also the author of “Abroad at any cost: Brokering High-risk migration and illegality in West Africa” (Routledge). Besides fieldwork experience in different African countries, she worked most recently on the impact of the EU-Turkey Statement in Greece. Jill has a particular passion for developing projects that uncover post-deportation risks and currently works on monitoring and evaluation projects, trainings and capacity enhancement in the global South. An adopted Parisian, Jill speaks a multitude of langues and recovers her energy to consult for change from playing capoeira and studying Arabic with a Syrian tandem partner.
