Gabriel Maisonnave, a master’s student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Media and Journalism and a Duke-UNC Rotary Peace Fellow, produced “Chronicles of Peace,” a series of short audio interviews with Rotary Peace Fellows.

Maisonnave earned his bachelor’s in international relations from the Universidad del Salvador in Buenos Aires. He’s interested in using traditional and new media to showcase stories about peace, conflict and reconciliation worldwide. “Chronicles of Peace” was produced in the spirit of using storytelling as a tool for building peace.

The project includes three- to five-minute interviews with 16 Duke-UNC Rotary Peace Fellows whose work focuses on peace and conflict resolution. The fellows are enrolled in master’s programs at UNC-Chapel Hill and Duke University, studying in a range of areas including political science, public policy, international relations and global health, among other disciplines.

Fellows are fully funded for their academic through the Rotary Foundation. The Duke-UNC Rotary Peace Center is one of six such peace centers around the world. It’s the only one in North America and the only center co-hosted by two universities. The centers were established by Rotary International in 2002 in memory of its founder Paul P. Harris.
