About Maria Elisa Pinto Garcia: Maria Elisa is a social entrepreneur, artist, and facilitator who has lived at the intersection of peacebuilding, art, and communications. She has designed and delivered more than 20 creative projects, including mobile museums, community murals, memory initiatives, and video projects, reaching over 15,000 people in Colombia. These projects aim to advance a culture of peace and raise awareness about structural and cultural violence.
Maria Elisa has also designed and facilitated spaces for trauma healing, dialogue, and community building, directly impacting around 1,000 people. She earned a Master's Degree in Global Studies from the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies on a full scholarship from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). With teaching experience and ten publications, including books and scholarly articles, Maria Elisa brings a wealth of knowledge to her work.
Currently, Maria Elisa serves as the Operations Lead of "Reimagine Peacebuilding," president of the Board of Directors of the Prolongar Foundation, and project lead of the documentary #Indivisibles. As a singer and songwriter, she also leads her own musical project, showcasing her multifaceted talents and commitment to driving change through various mediums.
