Bio:
Avary combines training as a genetic engineer and geobotanical field ecologist with an MBA in Sustainable Enterprise to lead impact-focused startups from idea to reality. Avary has reincorporated her love of ecosystems through her role as Executive Director of Conveners.org serving the Impact Ecosystem by coordinating impact-focused conveners and accelerators globally. Her expertise in experience design supports her clients in the development of participant focused events integrating human centered design techniques that deliver outstanding feedback and results. As an on-site facilitator she has worked with politicians, academics, cyber security experts, factory owners and workers, Fortune 100 brands, investors, and foundation leaders. She is adept at navigating challenging conversations and supporting groups towards productive dialogue and action.
Avary has worked on Impact Metrics with HIP Investor, the International Finance Corporation, and other corporate clients. She is the co-founder of Impactalpha.com, the Happiness Institute, and Puzzlebox LLC. At The Happiness Institute (a community video production studio in San Francisco) she hosted over a hundred events specializing in logistics and event production. As Executive Director of Conveners.org she has most recently designed a multi-stakeholder meeting Cotton to Cloth: Transparency in the Apparel Industry in Sri Lanka in December 2016. She has provided facilitation and experience design training to C&A Foundation, the Chairman of the Board for the Association of Enterprise Opportunity, as well as to the Net Impact, and GSBI Boost Training communities. She has also served on the leadership team of the Greenermind Summit for the last 7 years organizing a 100-person sustainability unconference in the Mendocino Woodlands.
