How can you help?

Start by studying with the experts in conflict resolution, human security and global governance at UMass Boston.

At UMass Boston you will take concepts you learn in the classroom into the field and work towards shaping solutions that create a more equitable, sustainable, and peaceful world. You will address issues through an interdisciplinary lens and gain hands on experience with faculty who are also practitioners in their field.  We have a reputation as the place that helps solve problems and gets things done. Our graduates are sought-after as change-makers.

If you value practical experience, civic responsibility and academic excellence, we invite you to explore our internationally-ranked graduate programs.  We are currently accepting applications for fall admission with full and partial funding available.

  • Conflict Resolution (Certificate, MA) Train to be an expert mediator, negotiator and facilitator.  Focus on areas such as court mediation, restorative justice, cross cultural conflict, peacebuilding, organizational and international conflict.
  • Global Governance and Human Security (PhD, MA) Become a creative global problem solver and focus on solutions around economic welfare and human development, ecological sustainability, peace, public health, education, human rights and political freedom, and the interrelationships among them.
  • International Relations (MA)  expand your understanding of strategies for successful political and economic development, of international organizations that make a difference, and of techniques for building peace and security on a global scale.
