Foundation for Peace Professionals (FPP), an independent Non-Governmental Organization for Professional Peace Advocacy, Research and Conflict Transformation received with great honour, our nomination for the NCMG prestigious Peace Award in the Institutional Peacebuilders category. The 2017 edition of this award category was won by the #BringBackOurGirls movement led by former Minister of Education and 2019 Presidential Candidate, Mrs Oby Ezekwesili.

Negotiation and Conflict Management Group (NCMG) that was incorporated in Nigeria in 1996 translated due to global demands into an international brand with major focus on promoting and advocating for world peace and conflict management within the Africa continent. The NCMG thus became NCMG International as approved by its Board of Governors with its Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland in 2012 and has been on the vanguard of ADR development in Africa, and continues to advance the frontiers of this relatively new industry through collaboration and partnership with relevant institutions across Europe and America.
The NCMG Peace Awards, which was debuted in 2017 is in recognition of change makers that continually make exemplary commitment and outstanding contribution to the pursuit of peace, justice building and corporate citizenship in Africa.

FPP is greatly honoured that such a prestigious organization with its global standing recognized our little efforts by nominating us for this great award, even though we are relatively new in the field of peace building in the country. The FPP was only incorporated in 2016 and being nominated for this award means a lot to us.

The selection committee judges, led by the highly respected Professor Ibrahim Gambari, Professor Isabella Okagbue, Hon. Justice A. A Phillips among others noted in their letter that with a teeming number of nominations for the Institutional Peacebuilder category, the Selection Committee shortlisted our organization based on what they described as ‘’our outstanding contributions which facilitates peace and security’’ and we believe that the final selection wouldn’t matter whether we win it or not, as our nomination in this category is enough antidote to motivate us into doing more than we are already doing.

We look forward to the final selection and wish the entire nominee best of luck.
