Bio – Flora Pereira

Flora Pereira is Chief Impact and Engagement Officer at the Pulitzer Center, responsible for the organization's theory of change and strategic engagement and communication and impact programs in the US, Latin America, Africa, and Southeast Asia. She is a specialized researcher in the intersections of gender and environmental rights based at Coimbra University, and an Advisory Board member for the Forests, People, Climate global collaborative. Previously she held positions at CLUA, UN Environment, and FAO, and founded Afreaka, a media and education NGO awarded the Brazilian Minister of Culture Prize for Independent Media. She is the author of five school-oriented books and more than 400 articles for independent and mainstream media, and co-coordinator of the Ecology and Society Workshop at the University of Coimbra, with a focus on southern ecofeminist grassroots movements.
