Kat James is the founder of Four Hundred Feet, a drone consultancy based in Nairobi, Kenya, dedicated to helping researchers, NGOs, and social good organizations amplify their impact through drone technology. She is a certified drone pilot with credentials from both the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) and the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Kat holds dual master’s degrees in Public Health and Information Science and a Bachelor’s in Geography and Global Health. She is passionate about increasing diversity in the drone industry and raising awareness about the ethical and impactful uses of drone technology. Kat serves on the advisory boards of the Commercial UAV Expo’s Path to Leadership Program and DroneDeploy’s Resilient Futures Grant Program.
