From March 10 through March 14, 2017 I was fortunate to be able to attend the SXSW interactive festival (including tech for social good). Two years ago, Dr. Catalina Rojas, Director of Innovation for PCDN received a Dewey Community Service Award for Digital Innovation at SXSW. In 2016 year 50% of the Dewey Awardees were members of PCDN including. This year two of the awardees were PCDN members including Blair Glencorse, Executive Director of the Accountability Lab and Dr. Barbara Moser, Director of the Inzone Project at the University of Geneva (see also their page on PCDN).
The event is an incubator of cutting-edge technologies and digital creativity, the 2016 event features countless compelling presentations and panels from the brightest minds in emerging technology, scores of exciting networking events hosted by industry leaders and an unbeatable lineup of special programs showcasing the best new websites, video games and startup ideas the community has to offer. From hands-on training to big-picture analysis of the future, SXSW Interactive has become the place to preview the technology of tomorrow today.
As part of attending the event, I was able to do short Facebook Live Interviews with a number of leading digital innovators. These interviews are listed below. I encourage you to learn more about each person/organization and the incredible work they are doing. Note it can take a few seconds for the videos on the page to load.
