Youth Programme Officer


CIVICUS exists to defend people power. As a growing global alliance of over 7000 members in 175 countries, we work together to monitor violations of basic civic freedoms, call out the perpetrators of violations and strengthen the power of people to organise by supporting a more accountable, effective and innovative civil society. We strive to promote excluded voices, especially from the Global South.

About the Role

The Youth Programme Officer provides day-to-day support to the CIVICUS youth membership, helping to identify resourcing opportunities for youth organisations and activists; contributing to community-building through regular communications and convenings; and supporting the development, launch, implementation and tracking of youth-specific projects, with a focus on the project “Strengthening 21st Century citizen action” funded by NORAD.

  • Research
  • Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, Sociology or related, or equivalent experience
  • Fluency in English and at least one other language
  • Excellent writing and organisational skills
  • Project management experience and skills
  • Communications and digital engagement skills
  • Basic knowledge on research skills
