Overview of the Position
Social Solutions International is recruiting a Chief of Party (COP) for an anticipated USAID-funded contract supporting USAID Bureau of Resilience and Food Security (RFS) with expert consultancy services to the RFS Program office. This contract will build the monitoring, evaluation, reporting and learning (MERL) capacity of RFS staff to efficiently and effectively apply findings and report contributions from the centrally funded portfolio to a diverse array of stakeholders notably, the U.S. Congress and public.
Provide overall leadership, technical direction and oversight of day-to-day activity management;
Actively liaise with partners and effectively communicate with USAID and key stakeholders;
Be responsible for efficient and effective performance (financial, operational, technical, etc.), compliant grants-management, and timely, high quality deliverables;
Use appropriate judgment in the development and delivery of products and presentations aimed at different audiences, including decision-makers;
Provide guidance and support to technical teams and partners;
Supervise activity staff and consultants, maintain a culture of collaboration, teamwork, and compliance.
At least ten years of experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting and Learning (MERL);
At least five years of experience as a Project Director for development projects;
Experience working with a U.S. government project preferred;
Experience interacting with senior U.S. government officials;
Experience interacting with senior RFS staff and implementing partners preferred;
Experience recruiting and successfully managing consultants, and ensuring the quality of their products;
A graduate degree in agriculture, economics, clinical social work, nutrition, public health, international development, monitoring and evaluation or a related field;
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing;
Security clearance at the “Facility Access” level will be required after the award of the Task Order. Evidence of security clearance at the time of the proposal is preferred
