The Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) is a private diplomacy organisation founded on the principles of humanity, impartiality and independence. Its mission is to help prevent, mitigate and resolve armed conflict through dialogue and mediation. HD is currently looking for a:

Senior Programme Manager, Eurasia
Location: Flexible in Eurasia region
Duration:  24 months
Starting date: as soon as possible

HD works with all parties to the conflict to de-escalate tensions, reduce the risks of conflict and establish a conducive environment for peace negotiations. The Senior Programme Manager will contribute to the Eurasia projects by providing assistance to the Regional Director, managing the projects and strengthening the role of HD in the region.

The Senior Programme Manager will have the following responsibilities:

  • Management of the Eurasia programme in close collaboration with the Senior Advisors, Regional Director and the Regional Advisor to the programme;
  • Liaise and representation with the key stakeholders including the appropriate Governments, Civil society, Donor agencies and international actors in the region;
  • Fundraise and propose developments for new programmes and consolidation of HD’s existing funding initiatives in the region;
  • Lead development of new opportunities, both consolidating HD’s existing areas of work and expanding to new areas;
  • Manage the project staff in the area and oversee the day to day programme management of the activities, including oversight of budgets, donor proposals, reports;
  • Provide oversight of regional activities in parts of Eurasia including Central Asia, Russia and the Caucasus.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate should meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum of 10 years expertise and demonstrated experience in management of project activities;
  • Knowledge of and commitment to conflict resolution, as well as political and cultural knowledge of Eastern Europe;
  • Excellent ability in drafting reports, developing proposals and fundraising;
  • Hold a Master’s degree in international relations, humanitarian affairs or mediation;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Russian;
  • Excellent communication skills.

Personality: The successful candidate should be capable of multi-tasking and meet tight deadlines. S/he must be a flexible team player, proactive and have strong social, communication and organisational skills.
