POSITION TITLE: Development Associate

The Center for International Environmental Law (CIEL) seeks a Development Associate to help raise funds in support of our mission to use the power of law to protect the environment, promote human rights, and ensure a just and sustainable society. With a focus on cultivating individual gifts and improving donor/constituent engagement, the Development Associate will play a critical role in executing creative donor engagement and stewardship strategies, managing the workflows of donor communications and major gifts projects, and ensuring accurate donor information. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic and passionate team working to ensure CIEL has the resources to deliver high-impact campaigns that protect people and the planet. This is a full-time position and reports to the Vice President (Director of Development).

Note that CIEL does not sponsor visas of any kind. You must have prior authorization to work in the United States in order to be considered for this position.
This is a full-time, exempt position based in Washington, DC. In light of the pandemic, we will support this new team member in working remotely until we can work together in our offices again. Exceptional candidates based remotely may be considered, but would need to travel to DC quarterly; due to the nature of this position, ability to work in the DC office is strongly preferred. CIEL offers a strong benefits package including employer-subsidized health, dental, and vision; paid vacation, sick, and parental leave; and a 5% contribution of gross annual salary into a 403(b) retirement account. CIEL is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, and full-time employees qualify for the US Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
