2020 SID-Washington Career Fair

Wednesday, January 29, 2020
10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
The George Washington University Marvin Center

The SID-Washington Career Fair offers an unparalleled networking opportunity for entry- and mid-level professionals to meet with a broad range of organizations representing all sectors in international development.

The career fair brings together over 40 exhibitors from NGOs, contractors, universities, government agencies, small firms, large ones, and everything in between. Attendees will include students and recent graduates, young professionals, mid-level candidates looking to make a change, returned Peace Corps volunteers and Foreign Service Officers looking for their next role, and many, many more.

The day’s agenda will offer an opportunity to meet with exhibitors,  flash mentoring sessions with mentors from a variety of international development organizations, and two practical breakout sessions. The first session will highlight the different paths people take in their careers. Speakers will share their stories on how they ended up where they did, why they decided on their own career paths, and what advice they can share to help others in their own careers. The second session on “How to be More Interesting Than a Cell Phone®” will provide practical tips on how to improve your networking skills in order to make real, memorable connections. We hope to see you there!
